Arts in the Basic Curriculum: Powerful Portraits

This resource guide provides supplemental resources to accompany the Saint Louis Art Museum’s Arts in the Basic Curriculum (ABC) program. ABC is a multivisit tour program for student groups that offers six themed tours to choose from.

Theme Summary

Powerful Portraits explores how artists throughout time capture the likeness and story of figures. This theme extends the boundaries of portraiture by identifying and discussing emotions, personality traits, and body language found in artworks.
